I'm also considering the 9300 for DTR but read many reviews about the problem of a sparkly screen. Some people have a hard time reading the text. So what screen would you recommend if I ever I choose the 9300?
    Thanks.

It is not hard to read, it is sharp and bright.

The sparkles are present on many other manuf laptops today as well. The material that is used to make a mate cover on them is no good for my liking at all (it looks like a tiny shiny mesh or veil is spread on the top, which makes you look through it into the screen).

The other thing is that I have to hover over the laptop to get a perfect angle to view the spot I'm are interested in, because if I look in the middle, the upper level is darker, bottom is different tone, sides shady. Yes, I personally find it that way, but I just showed it to a friend of mine, he was happy to look at the screen and when I pointed it out to him, he said that if I would of not told him he would of not seeing it at all. Only after I pointed it out he started to have a little harder time of looking at it, but nothing that would keep him from getting it. So it all depends on what your experience with LCDs is and how picky you are about what you are looking at.

I din not know that this even exists until I got 9300. I was always having IBMs, but went for cheaper, "better" configuration, which ended up a disappointment and waste of time, because I can's live with "liquid" (see through) colors and grey screen, which almost all Dell LCDs have (after getting 9300 I went to the Dell kiosk and looked at all models).

As I said it all depends on what your needs and experience are, you might be happy looking at it and not see nothing but beautiful bright, very sharp images, which it has. So don't get all that opinionated based on some picky people's opinion like myself. It is a very best PC for the money.

    PS: just my 2 pennies.

My 9300 is perfect except for that ugly white stripe they put on the sides[xx(] That will be changing soon though.

Are you going to repaint it? hehe
By the way, how are you positioning your hands to avaid hitting the bezel edge infront of the keyboard with your thumb? No matter what I tried I have to forcefully press my thumb onto the space bar through that edge.

PS: I think if I leave the laptop I will grind that edge to a more comfortable level ;)

Yep I'm gonna paint it. Haven't decided on the colors yet, but I like a nice glossy black.

I have no problem with the space bar. must just be how you position your hands. Most of the time I use my desktop keyboard and mouse anyway.
