I hooked my xps1530 up to my widescreen tv with the hdmi and I could not get the screen to fit the tv properly. its hard to play games or surf the web if all of the icons and the start button are off the screen.

I hooked mine up to a 1080p television no problem. The resolution was set automatically and fit the screen perfectly.

You might try manually selecting the output resolution. If your TV is 1080, then 1920x1080, if it is 720, then 1280x720.

there's an option in the nvidia control panel to resize the screen - so you can click/drag the edges to make it fit your tv perfectly.

when i hooked mine up, i either had the edges missing (because the picture was too big) or had a black border (too small). managed to then adjust the screen size through nvidia control panel.

    so try that out.
