anyone got the ruby red 1520 recently?

It seems like that the red color is not backordered but the orders are still not shipping. In fact, none of the items in my order are backordered and it still is in 'production' for last 6 days.

Many people have gotten their 1520, ordered on 26/27, shipped out on july 30/31. I wonder how come? If all the items are available, does the build take six days for professionals to assemble?

my ruby red has been in production for 23 days and it's still in build.

 

What in the world! Holy crap! Why is this color not marked as backordered then? Are you sure the delay is because of ruby red?

So, dell has been caught lying about the availability of the items. My configuration is identical to you except for the graphics card and CPU. And I thought only the lid color and LCD (1680x1050) was backordered.

This is a freaking mess!

 

The ruby red laptops should be shipping soon. My girlfriend bought a ruby red 1520 on july 22nd and it was supposed to ship 8/7 but it got delayed but only to the 14th. And I just talked to dell and there isn't any delays on it. So I think anyone who ordered a ruby red laptop should be seeing it soon.

lol I just check the site and theres a 16 day delay on ruby red. Wow thats quite a wait lol.

 

Oh boy. I have same comp, same resolution etc... except with a webcam and a 2.0ghz and I ordered the 18th. Still in build..

In addition to the average 9 day build time. So Ruby Red would be 25 days for build, 1 day for order processing, then ~3 days for shipping, at least, which is about a 1 month wait.

 

I think there may be a shortage of T7300 chips as well.. but that could just be a rumour...

Us Red/Green/Pink people cant get a break!!! Dell!! Make more of those colours!! Sheesh...

 

If Dell's website was to be believed, I should have my laptop by now. Because 16days was 0days when I ordered my Ruby Red and as per your calculation, I should get it in 29-16=13 days! But I am far from getting it.

In nutshell, they don't exactly know what the actual delays are.

 

Yeah I guess, but July 26 wasn't too long ago. I'd bet you'll get it in late August. Better then me, I'm probably going with the Sager which has like a 60 day wait on it
