Ok... I took the plunge ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=2202601&postcount=29) and ordered one on 7/22 but my EDD is supposedly ~9/11 to 9/13.
After calling every Bay Area Dell kiosk every weekend, I find that none of them has an M1330 on display. Is anyone in the Bay Area willing to show me theirs? I'm still trying to decide if I should cancel and get a cheaper, but larger Inspiron 1420 or get something else instead.
Maybe we could meet at a mall or even better yet at a Dell kiosk so I can physically compare it to a 1420? I think the Dell kiosk workers would appreciate it too since I doubt they've ever seen one.
I live in south San Jose, but pretty much anywhere in SF or south of it would be ok w/me. I'm getting a little antsy that it might actually show up earlier than expected...

No takers? If no Dell kiosks have them by 8/18, I'd be willing to pay $10 for your trouble...
-
Anyone? I called the 5 closest kiosks to me (one being 90 miles away) and none of them have it
-
No one has it in the Bay Area
Or at least, they don't frequent the NBR forums

I'm still trying to see one in person to see if I should cancel my order and consider the Thinkpad T61 or get a much cheaper Inspiron 1420 or possibly a refurb M1210.
Since I've still potentially got a long wait ahead of me (EDD 9/11 to 9/13/07), I'd rather see one rather than have it arrive and pay a restocking fee if I don't feel it's worth the price premium.
Other than Dell kiosks (since none around within 90 miles of me have them), anyone else know a place in the Bay Area I can see one? I know the Stanford bookstore doesn't have it. -
Anyone? Bueller?
I'm now really tempted to cancel my long delayed M1330 and order a Thinkpad T61 because the price is SO tempting w/the NAR discount + USXNARTRIPLE coupon code. -
Hey,.....check Westfield Oakridge in San Jose. I think I saw one at their kiosk.
-
You might've seen an Inspiron 1420. -
I FINALLY saw one today at a Dell kiosk in Pleasanton. I happened to be up there for something else. I already canceled my M1330 order long ago and got a T61p instead.
Overall, I'm glad I didn't get the M1330 as the price premium for its looks and size wouldn't have been worth it. I saved >~$700 w/the T61p, and got a faster CPU and faster video to boot. -
Hey, how much was that T61p config, I'm trying to decide between a Thinkpad and the Vostro. What kind of screen ? Glossy ?
