    hey guys,

I've just given assassins creed a run and here are my GPU temps during gameplay:

    Peak: 96
When I exited the game: 85
Temps when my laptop is idle: 65-68

My 8600gt is not overclocked, I'm using 174.93 drivers. My query is, are these temps just abit high or is it me?

    thanks in advance

I think it's not abnormal though a lower is always better.Peak 85 would be limit IMHO.

Also if it starts artifacting... thats a sign of overheating too.

96 does seem a bit hot on the peak. I assume you are not playing on your lap. Do you have the 6 or 9cell battery? If you have the 6cell, I would suggest getting something to prop up the back side of the notebook so the vent/fan is elevated. Someone on here uses 2 school erasers, which thinking about it sounds perfect.

Also in my testing, I have found that 169.04 drivers run the coolest. So you could try those if you like.
