    does it enhance the sound or is just a fancy term?? :)

    One of the most most noticable things it does is enabled EAX which works quite well in some games.

    well the software is merely a modified driver. so yes you might hear better music quality but the reason most people buy separate sound cards for their computer is for the increased gaming performace since the sound is being done separately saving resources. you will not recieve that bonus. I personally dont think it is necessary. I think it is middle of a road approach. between not caring about sound and getting a separate sound card for audiophiles.
