I just bought a e1505 a few minutes ago. Since I will be carrying it around a lot at college a such, anyone know what backpack I can buy that will fit the laptop and school stuff without being all "crazily designed"? It is better to get some reviews because it is hard to tell by looking at a picture what is good and what isn't.
    Thanks a lot

Got a 6400 (same as E1505), fits nicely in my Kensington Saddlebag Sport. Backpack is sturdy, and overall well finished.

I just reformated my Dell E1505, its in its final stages. I also bought the city gear Chicago Targus Notebook backpack. Now I want a sleeve also. My only concern is that it might make it to big to fit in the backpack. So I guess I will wait and find out what I need.

If you want more of a bike messenger type bag, you might look at these. The description says that it includes a sleeve for a 15.4" notebook computer. :D OspreyPacks.com courier bag

If you use a laptop case, you don't need a sleeve. Sleeves are a stylish, small footprint alternative to a big case. No storage space for other items, just enough room and padding for your laptop with one or two pockets for disks, paper, etc.

I like that Kensington backpack a lot. The Sierra one isn't bad either. Tough choice.

THe targus city gear backpack should be able to withstand some rain but it will not have a water proof bottom. I have personally felt and put it on my packpack and it feels great. I didnt even know that backpacks could feel that comftorable on your back. A lot better than my Trans backpack. It also has a lot of pockets and stuff to put your notebook accesories, like my wireless G7 mouse and charger if needed. I have not recieved it in the mail (bought it at amazon for 60 bucks) but I tried it out at Circuit city and I have to say I really like it. One backpack that I would not recomment is the Targus Gravity backback. It does not feel good on the back and is lumpy. The city gear is straight and formfitting, yet it also supports the back so well. I'll let you know more details on the City Gear once I get it. I decided against a sleeve also, it wont even fit int the backpack I think.

Since I commute to school, and live in CA, a water resistant backpack would seem a good choice for me. Should I stick with the ChicagoCity one or choose one of the other three? Does anyone have an opinion on any of alternative backpacks I've listed in my previous post?

    Thanks again.

Well I went out to Circuit City and Best Buy to look at bags for my new e1505 and guess what? They are not open on Easter Sunday. I went to church but I want my bag! I will just have to use my old bag for now. Ciurcuit city has the Targus Platinum deluxe bag on sell for $19.95 after rebates -$40 savings. Best Buy has it for $39.95 with no rebates. Is this a good bag or are they trying to get rid of them?

I just bought a backpack for my E1505 from Wal-Mart. It is made by Targus and cost ~30 dollars. I like it! (Of course I've only used it once, but still) It has a sleeve for you to put the notebook in, and plenty of extra storage. From what I've seen, the price can't be beat!

I bought a Spire Meta backpack for my last laptop and am still using it five years later. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. I first bought the Zoom but returned it because it was too small to carry much more than the computer and accessories. I wanted a bag that I could haul books or clothes in as well as the computer so I upgraded to the Meta. Check 'em out...

I bought a Kensington for my E1505 and I love it. I can fit my mouse, AC adapter, spare battery, network cable, and couple books in it. With a little work, I could even get an E1705 to just barely fit.

For perhaps a more style-oriented backpack, Nixon has a new line of backpacks which almost all have pockets for laptops. I doubt the protection is as good as some of these companies just because Nixon does not specialize in this field. They are a bit pricey, but are geared toward college and teenage students. They have laptop compartments, iPod compartments, and special areas to put your sunglasses in. Some also have a modular design so you can take some things off depending on how much space you need.

does anyone here know if Dicota Perfectskin 15.4" fits the e1505 nicely?

the thing is, that I have a number of backpacks, and I don't want to get another one just for laptop, so I was thinking of getting this thing and using it inside my Lowe Alpine 30L backpack.

I have the same one, is toooooo heavy. I'm still trying to decide if Iwant to keep it or not. The E1505 fits really tight. You need to be carefull tnot to damage it with the zipper.

I'm not much into backpacks, and the case I have right now doesn't protect my E1505 good enough.. It scares me each and everytime I have to put it in there..
I have been thinking about getting this case but IDK, what do you guys think?

    http://www.mezzi.com/product.php?id=1&prodid=19
Very lightweight and very strong.. but flashy. I think it will hold my accesories ie. mouse AC adapter headphones(Sennheiser PX100)
