    which backup softwares cds does dell give out with the inspiron 1520

    Mine had a Vista DVD, a Media Direct CD, and a driver disc.
    If you get other options, like Roxio, you may get other discs as well.

    All of Dells have come with OS disks without my having to request it, though I still hear about people not getting them. In general I'm under the impression that unless you specifically don't ask for one, they'll give you one.

    Those not getting them I think is a mistake, they just forget to put them in the box when preparing for shipping sometimes. :p Either way, you can request them if you didn't get any.

    Each customer can request one set of re-installation media disregarding they have received it or not. If you have one set already, you may request one later with the latest drivers CD.
