I originally bought a 1520 last summer, but had been having all kinds of problems with it, and finally got Dell to send me a replacement. Due to some kind of weird screw-up, I received two replacement computers: a brand new 1530, and a refurbished 1530. Needless to say, I am keeping the new and sending back the refurb. However, the new came with an extended battery, while the refurb had the normal. I would much prefer having the normal battery (I like the smaller size) but I am wondering about the drop in battery life between the extended and normal. If it's a big enough drop, I might keep the extended battery.

    Thanks!

Ok, a 9 cell test is up.

There is also a 9 cell test from another forum user in the thread which I hadn't noticed.

Go with the 9 cell, forget the 6 cell. I've used mine and have gotten over 4 hours several times. The slight elevating you get helps cooling, (air flow from fans) and since it tapers already, it just adds to it a little. I wouldn't think of going back to a 6 cell.

Check my review in my sig. :)
