for all you who bought the belkin notebook sleeve with your laptop, does the 14 inch sleeve perfectly fit with the 1420 inspiron? if you have pictures, can you also post them, specially the black/cabarent (sp?) one...

also, do you think it is sufficient protection -- I'm planning on ordering one seperately and just putting it in my backpack. I don't want any messenger bags or notebook cases; I just want to be able to put it in my backpack with the rest of my stuff. I know its not gonna protect it from severe falls, but will it be enough for everyday transportation?

It fits, but isn't as thick as they want you to believe it is. It feels so great when you first get it, as it has a nice cushy piece of foam inside. But with your laptop inside, it feels rather cheap. I dont think it was worth the 30 bucks I spent on it. here for pics.

    j33f,

I know what you mean about that Belkin case. I used to work at this horrible place with a big yellow tag and we got cases like that for half off. It was the same idea with the brand In-Case. There was this thick foam and it felt so nice but once you took the foam out it just felt like cloth.

My parents got me a camera case from Japan called ZeroShock. It looks like a sleeve but it's quite sturdier. You can actually squeeze the sleeves of the case and it'll actually retain that imprint of where you squeezed it, but it'll go back to it's original shape after a while. They make laptop sleeves as well. According to the company, you can put an egg in it and drop it and the egg will come out unscathed. I denno if that's true, I might try it now.

But it's supposed to resists impacts and shocks. They sell them on eBay but I know a lot of people have been trying to sell knock-offs. I'm thinking about getting one.
