Well I will be going to college next year so im going to need a laptop. I was planning on waiting until closer to summer, but with such good deals on the XPS 1530 right now, should I get it now, or will there be just as good of deals in a couple months? So does dell constantly come out with stuff like the $669 off the 1530 or is this just a christmas/new years special?

There is alot of discussion right now as to why the M1530 is so well priced. Would I trust it to remain like that? No. Dell may be recuperating from the quick entrance of the M1330 which resulted in some quality issues initially in the M1330.

Love my M1330 but if I was looking, I would grab the deal now rather than waiting. The more popular the computer, the faster its price increase results...happened several times prior.

The best deals from Dell come at their Quarter End and Fiscal Year End. BTW Fiscal Year End is coming up (February)!

If you need it in Summer, I would advice you to wait because Dell keeps on coming out with deals all the time. You can go to www.gotapex.com for more info.

I read somewhere that Quad Core will be release around Apr'08. At that time, the price of the laptop, at least with the current processor will go down.

4-6 months is a lot of time!

Buy when you need/want it. Waiting around potentially makes you miss out on a great deal.

last quarter aka February is correct. To be honest though get it now, this deal is amazing. The US is lucky to get these deals. In Canada we get shafted by dell.

I doubt it. What do you need to do that requires so much? Also the cost will be much higher and won;t have deals till tis been out a while. Get these units while they are cheap.

The $669 off deal is really great, if the deal was avialable in Canada I would have all ready jumped on it. You can get a fully loaded m1530 (8600GT, 3GB, 200 GB 7200, 802.11n, 6 cell & 9 cell bat, Bluethooth 2.0, upgraded screen, with a T7700 with great warrenty) all under $1800 in the US...
