ok, i have an e1505 with a x1400, and battery life looks decent. i have a 9 cell battery just to let u know. anyways, ill unplug it, and it says it will get 5 hours, then it randomly drops to like 3:45, then back up to like 4:45 (after 15 mins of use). so which do i trust...and how can i squeez a lil more life out of it?

That site has several good tips. With the XP indicator, you really can't tell. It is just an estimate of how much battery life you have life based on your current configurations at that time. If you begin to run more programs or stop running some, turn on/off wifi, adjust brightness, etc - then your time changes.

What I do is test my battery, so like i'll use it on full brightness with wifi and get a certain time. I know that most likely that time is my maximum amount of battery life. I don't even bother to worry about the XP indicator until i get down to an hour or less of time. Until that point, I just try to use my own judgement on it.
