This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     bios not acpi compliant

    I reformatted my dell e1505 and updated to the a07 bios, but I noticed considerably more noise from laptop. I read that this issue was solved by going back to a03 bios, so I tried that. After doing this, I can no longer use mediadirect. For some reason when I click mediadirect button, I get a blue screen that says the bios is not acpi compliant. Is there any solution to this? Should I update to the a06 bios that my laptop shipped with? I tried looking for the a06 bios, but I can't find it anywhere on dell site, or even when googled.

    update: nvm issue resolved :)
