    Hi there im new here and looking fot some help i have a dell inspiron 1545
    and today i was trying to run a update and would not let me do anything till i paid out on antivirus softwere which i already have so i tried to restore the system back a couple of days now when i turn it on it starts up and then the ask for password bot nut in the little box it used to its now a white screen with big letters so i type in the pass word then it goes to start up then the screen goes blank and nothing happens any ideas iv tried f2 set and f12 but no good if i leave it a while even the screen saver kicks in !! please help :) :mad: :confused: :confused:

    Boot in safe mode and run a bunch of antivirus programs, or reinstall Windows.

    Put in your Vista disk, reboot the computer, press the F key that lets you boot from the CD and choose the repair console. Then, perform a repair operation or system restore.

    i tried to boot it in sfe mode comes up loading windows files with a long list of files then goes back to blang i can mive the courser around thats it ill have to try find my vista disc if i got 1 :-(
    does this mean iv lost all my info ?

    hi iv tried to put the disc in and press the f key but still nothing you can hear the disc start to spin then it stops tried rebooting it in all modes but still blank screen :confused: :confused: ant more help please :rolleyes: :mad: :mad:

    No it doesnt mean you've lost the info. Prob a virus or something. Try taking the HD out and plugging it into a desktop machine as a secondary hard drive and then running a scan on it or something.
