Am getting an XPS M1210 with Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0+EDR), Vista.

Does anyone have experience with a bluetooth mouse that would work well with this setup?

Is the Logitech V270 that Dell sells as good as anything else out there? I don't need anything fancy, just something that WORKS.

It's not bluetooth, but I'd strongly recommend the Logitech VX Revolution. The wireless receiver is tiny and pops right out when you need it. Ergonomically it's one of the best mice I've ever used. And I think it looks damn cool and would match an XPSM1210 pretty well.

    The V270 is excellent.

However, it is a full-size mouse and stays at home when I go travelling. I take a smaller USB mouse.

check out radtech BT500, it uses 2 AAA battery and very very compact. comes with a small case, it also comes with a recharging cable if you are using rechargable batteries.

Pretty sure, it only uses a single AA battery........ I haven't used mine enough to know exactly what the battery life is though (I got it along with a laptop I then ended up selling, so haven't had much need to use it for a while).

Thanks for the suggestions. Now I'm thinking a non-Bluetooth wireless might be best, because this computer will be used by my daughter in a dorm. If there are 2.5 GHz cordless phones in nearby rooms, will they play havoc with the Bluetooth? Or do they need to be a lot closer than that to cause problems?

The Logitech v270 takes 2 AA's, however, it will operate on just one. It's an amazing little mouse. The 2 batteries that came with mine have been going for 10 months, never replaced, and I've left it on overnight more than my fair share of times. According to what I have read, leaving 2 batteries in it has a better battery life than using one and swapping when it dies; mainly due to a lower/slower drain.

I use 2.5 Ghz phones in my house and have never had an issue. No issue at all to be honest, even with other Bluetooth things running right next to it. Or other phone freq's. Or other wireless mice (not bluetooth) on the same desk.

i have a 2.5 GHZ cordless phone at home, and never had any problems with it while i use my mouse. so i am sure it is nothing to worry about.
