Got my new vostro 1500 6 days ago.
I found the screen is very blurry if I set the screen resolution with any sizes other than the true size(1680 by 1050). Not only the alphabets, but even the lines are blur.
I tried use cleartype fonts an adjusted/tuned the cleartype fonts but none of them helped.
By the way, how could I know my LCD's brand? I saw some people claimed their vostro 1500 LCD is made by LG or ..., but I don't know where can I find this information.

It is typical of LCD panels to become blurry when they are used at lower resolution than their native resolution, 1680x1050 in your case.
Check Device Manager -> Monitors -> Plug and Play Monitor -> Details -> Hardware ID. I have an LG panel and Hardware ID is LPLF300.
This the best LCD panel I have seen, please use it at the native resolution and enjoy -
Thanks for your hint!
I checked that, although my hardware id is also LPLF300, but the manufacturer for the monitor isstandard monitor types). Does that mean I also have an LG LCD?
