So my father's inspirons 1501 came today. But I have a problem with the DVD drive. If I press the eject button on the drive, it does nothing, the light does not even flash. Absolutely nothing. But when I go to my computer and right click on the drive then click ejects, it works.

Is there a way to fix this or...?

you can try reseating the optical drive to make sure it has proper contact with the system board connector.
try going into bios setup and eject the tray from there.
