if they don't pop back on, you'll probably need to buy a new keyboard from dell

Is the key actually broken or did the parts just come off? The ones with a little plastic square and ring underneath can be tricky to get back on (figuring out how the pieces go together), but it can be done--I popped off my "E" just the other day. ;)

If you are still covered under warranty (extended or standardard), you should be able to get a new keyboard. I had 2 keys break off a couple of months ago, and I contacted Dell. Answered some questions and had a new one sent to me.

If your warranty has expired, I believe it cost about 20 bucks from Dell to get the keyboard.

$20 isn't bad, if it was a fit of rage you can't really be getting a free replacement as it wasn't Dell's fault the things came off :)

yeah the 2 plastic pieces that hold the key to the keyboard snapped. i wouldnt kno how to put on my own keyboard so it prob better to just ask for spare parts.

Its actually easy to put the keyboard on. There is an online manual, plus you'll get instructions if you order it from dell. Its just a matter of removing 2 screws and pulling the keyboard ribbon out. Then you can pull the keyboard out, and replace it. Takes about 5-10mins.

I'm not sure what laptop you have, but here is an example for the I9300. You can click on the keyboard link, and it will give you illustration.
