So I got my Vostro the other day from the dell outlet and overall am very pleased with it. However, when playing certian games (COD4, TF2) I was experiencing a huge ammount of stuttering. At first I thought it was due to the fact that I hadn't cleaned up the windows install that came with it and that I only had 1gb of ram. however the problem persisted even after installing my own copy of XP pro. I shrugged it of as a ram deficit, and installed Vista on my second partition.
All stuttering was gone - completely smooth. So I went back into Xp and started killing drivers and discovered of was the audio drivers causeing the lag.
Has anyone else experienced this? And are there better drivers out there for the Signatel chip? I tried a few on the forum that I found but they didn't help. Thanks, Chuck
