Malaysia. If boxing took 2-3 days, that is due to transit between Malaysia and Nashville.

    That is the shipping address.
The build it overseas, ship it to the states, then ship it to your location.

That's awfully damn quick then, considering I ordered it on Friday (16th) and it shipped out Tuesday (20th).

Isn't that the OEM portion (case & mobo) is made and/or assembled in Malaysia and that the parts (CPU, RAM, HDD, etc) are added here in the States?

No. The box with laptop in it that you pull out of the main box is like that from Malaysia. They pack the plane with 250,000 boxes like that. then when it arrives. they scan the service tag and put it in main box with accessories that customers order. then ship it. Laptops don't get changed at all in Nashville. It just stay in its own box.

I went with pretty much the stock unit, short upping the HD and scaling back the optical drive. Ordered Friday the 16th, shipped the 20th, sitting in Atlanta on the 21st, should be heading down I-16 to Savannah tonight to lead to a 22nd delivery tomorrow (Thursday).
