That problem has been in computers for years, my desktops have headphone/speaker noise. Fortunately my 1520 doesn't. Does have the CPU whine, which I don't hear now that I run RMClock. Should be a fix soon for it from Dell.

Paint peels off or scratches, rather it is a notebook or a car, that's just how it is.. Haven't experienced anything of the sort with mine. And it's used 10+ hours everyday.

The bad screens seems to be manufacturing process issues, with LG and Samsung and all the others.. They got crummy QC, and ain't doing things 100% the way they're suppose to be, like using thicker film/resent material for the screen, causing the grain. Although not every notebook has that problem.

And as for as warranties go, you'll be very happy with Dell..best in the industry, they back up they're hardware 100% and do anything to make you happy.

    So, enjoy the notebook bro!

I wouldn't be too worried. I doubt most of the laptops they produce are defunct. But there is always those lucky few...
