To get a $300 coupon which combination would you choose?

    1. C2D T7100, vista HP, 1280X800 display, nvidia 8400M GS, 2 gb ram, 160 gb 5400 rpm HDD, CD/DVD RW drive, intel N wireless card, Bluetooth, webcam = $1218-300 = $918

    2. C2D T7100, vista HP, 1280X800 display, nvidia 8400M GS, 2 gb ram, 160 gb 7200 rpm HDD, CD/DVD RW drive, intel 3945 wireless card, Bluetooth, webcam = $1218-300 = $918

Can I trade in intel N wireless card for a 160 GB 7200 rpm HDD? Please give your suggestions.

I would go for the second choice. The standard for wireless-N hasn't been formally set by IEEE, nor is 802.11n very common to find yet. I wouldn't bother getting a wireless-N card until the standard is finalized (which I believe isn't until late 2008), as certain aspects of it could change, although that is somewhat unlikely. And that hdd would run about $180 - $200 if you were to buy it after the fact, which is a lot more than a wireless-N upgrade would cost when the time comes.

I am ending this thread with this post.

the $300 coupon limit is now increased to $1399.

So I can't consider either of the 2 choices now.
