is there any other way paying for the dell laptop instead of paying it online
because i don't technically trust those online transactions, and i can't seem to find another way to pay for it really

    thanks

Call Dell. They will take your credit card over the phone.

I wouldn't trust giving it over the phone if I didn't trust giving it to an secured/well-established company via the internet.

"because i don't technically trust those online transactions"

Online transactions are pretty safe (especially with a site like Dell's) if your own computer is protected (firewall, antivirus, anti-spyware, up to date patches) or if you use a Mac ;) .

When you use your credit card at a restaurant, you are at risk of someone swiping your credit card information when it's out of your hands in a back room somewhere.

You are not responsible for fraudulent use of your credit card online or otherwise, although it could be a pain to clear up.

    Here are your options:
    Dell Preferred Account (credit card)
    cc over the phone
    cc on the net
mail a check (this will add a few weeks on to your buy time)
visit the nearest Dell store and buy a system from there. Dell Direct Store

That's pretty much the only choices you have. They don't accept money orders/cash.

I can come and pick the cash up from you, then will use my cc and get you anything you want from Dell. Of coarse it is going to have some commissions on the top, but what the heck, you have to pay for your security, right? Right... ;?)>

Everytime you use your credit card either on the phone, in the store, or on line, the first thing that happens is that it gets entered into a computer thats hooked up to the internet. Your computer, the stores computer, the credit card companys computer, or the banks computer, or all of these computers. The only way you can not have your credit card number on the internet is to not have a credit card.

In Australia Dell accepts direct deposit at National Australia Bank (at Dell's account) and thats how I'm going to pay for one next monday. You could ask them if they have something similar there.

this is inaccurate. POS (point of sale) systems use a direct line.

if you dont trust giving your credit card info out over the phone or secure sites over the internet, what all do you do with your credit card? i must say there isnt much of a difference in putting in your information manually than having a card reader on your desktop, where you can slide the card just like at any store, they both use some sort of computer network interface to verify your information.

if you dont trust using it over the internet or phone, then the only place i would trust it is at a pay at the pump gas station or automated movie theater ticketing system, where the card never leaves your hand.

To prevent and extinguish yer fear about key loggers, do yerself a feyver and put yer CC info into the text file before going to the "key logging" merchant site and just use yer mouse to open, copy and paste all the CC info into those key logging boxes. No body on earth would know what in the heck you could put into those boxes just by clicking two buttons on the mouse.

PS: no thanks needed, I am just bored ;o)>
