    Hi!
I would like to buy an xps 1530, but there are some matters that concern me:

    1. is it worth buying an "Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy ADVANCED HD Audio"? Is the quality of the sound better than provided by standard sound card? Does this card have something that makes it worth buying?

    2. are those slot-load DVDs assembled in xps 1530 still loud or it's history?

    3. i heared that some 160GB.7200 and 200GB.7200 HDD are working loudly. is it true with all of them or it just happens occasionally?

    4. some time ago i heared that current systems/chipsets don't read 4GB RAM and as a result it's wise to buy 3GB RAM rather than 4GB, because some part of it isn't used. is this true?

    5. is it true that all 1440x900 screens assembled in Poland are LG-Philips?

thank you for all the answers!!! :)

I don't really know about the other questions. But for question number 2, in my personal experiene, it works perfects. Well, it makes some noises, but it's not loud. I personally prefer these slot load DVDs than the traditional ones.

No the option is software only and actually doesn't do anything. I have had a m1530 without it and currently have one with it...I notice NO difference.

My slot-load DVD is pretty much inaudible. I only hear it every once in a LONG while when it is loading something off a DVD, and this is quite quiet.

The problem is not with the chipset, the problem is with the 32bit Operating System. Vista and XP can only see 3GB of RAM...UNLESS you are running the x64 version...then you will see all 4GB.

Hopefully the answers help you in your purchase...I love my m1530 and am glad I bit the bullet and purchased it.
