Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me a positive respond

I plan to upgrade my notebook memory to 3GB (1GB + 2GB), my notebook is dell inspiron E1505 with intel core duo processor (the earliest T_T)

can anyone tell me is that possible? because according to dell mine only support up to 2GB and I personally don't think 2GB would be sufficient for me due to the multimedia and 3D works I plan to do and I also know 4GB of memory would be impossible for 32bit OS (which my processor can only support)

    Hey

Go onto crucial.com or .co.uk depending were you live. It will do a system scan for you and tell you the max, but if dell are saying max 2gb then you might be out of luck.

Well, according to that website max ram supported is 2GB BUT... after several research I found several people who installed 4GB in their E1505 but only 3.3GB detected by the OS and I use SANDRA 2007 to diagnose my laptop and it says that max ram supported is 4GB

so... I'm not really sure and thats why I want confirmation from the people here who have actually installed 3 or 4GB of ram in their E1505

As far as i know, people have had mixed results. With the latest bios version installed on your motherboard, i would think it would work fine though.

You sure?? the latest bios update I could find is for the motherboard to recognize the intel merom processor

with the setup of 1GB+2GB RAM will my system run in single channel or dual channel?

Someone knows about the pavillion dv 8000? I'm thinking of exchanging my 512 stick with a 2gb one, and the putting windows vista...
