I'm wondering if the dell studio can play aoe3 on medium to high performance settings without any lag. Which studio will play it the best, 1555 or another model?

also how does the studio compare to the dell vostro in terms of playing aoe3

price is a factor and the cheaper the better

also any suggestions of a laptop to play aoe3 would help, it does not have to be a dell

Which video card? The Studio 15 (1555) comes with 3 possible video card options: the default intel 4500MHD *might* play it at lowest settings, while the 256mb and 512mb ATI 4570 would handle it with no problems.

If you're going to be doing any kind of gaming (with games made in the last 5 years or so), the Intel IGP 4500 series isn't really up to snuff. You *might* get some of the less demanding games to play in their lowest possible settings, but don't count on it.

IMO, any discrete graphics option is better. Even nVidia's IGP 9400M G (pretty powerful in terms of onboard chips) is only comparable to bottom tier discrete chips.

Also, you can always check google or youtube for (insert laptop name) gaming, to get a general idea of what laptops can handle what games. Bottom line, any decent gaming is going to require a discrete video option (which you'll know, as the manufacturers will be sure to mention it in the description...if you don't see one, you can bet its the default intel 4500).

That game is over 4 years old now, it should run it splendidly.
