    can dell act as a cellphone???

    hey guys i need ur help... my dell inspiron 1525 has a build in sim card slot, im just thinking if my laptop can act as a cellphone were u can text and call... do u have any idea about this??? if this is true, how can i set it??? is there also a software for that??? :confused:

    Where is there a built in sim card slot? I hope you dont mean the SD slot?

    Wait, why does this thread need a poll? Anyways, I heard of some laptops with a SIM card slot, but I highly doubt your Dell Inspiron has one. But assuming it did, I would still suggest using a cellphone. I'm sure fees would be immense using a laptop. Or just use skype.

    Any laptop that offers Mobile Broadband cards has a slot for a SIM card as well as a slot for the WWAN card. Most Dells over the last few years has one - usually behind the battery.

    My Studio 15 also has a SIM card slot inside the battery compartment. It's used for mobile broadband plans, not actual calling or texting via the notebook.
