I recently added XP Pro to Vista as an OS on my 1520 and have just discovered that my BIOS can be updated from A06 to A09, but I'm worried that if I do this I will not be able to boot one or both of my OSes, I used VistaBootPro3.3 to enable Vista to boot once I added XP Pro so I could choose my OS at boot.

Thanks In Advance for any help.

I don't think the BIOS update will affect the dual-boot config.
You can still backup your dual-boot settings with EasyBCD, or just add an entry in the BCDedit file in Vista, to show XP as an option in the Boot-Loader.

ok, how would I use that file if all goes very wrong? I think XP does show up in that but how would I be sure?

The backup file ? Options to restore are present.
Or else, if you have a Vista OS disc with you, you can also restore/reinstall dual-boot in Vista through CMD commands. (Though doin' it through EasyBCD is easier)

The BIOS has nothing to do with dual booting. Only issue I can see is if for some reason a new BIOS had some massive bug that made it incompatible with an OS, which dosen't seem likely!
