I just installed a 4gb kit of OCZ pc5400 ram on my new inspiron 1520. I'm trying to load up the diagnostic program by pressing F12 during boot but for some reason the computer doesn't let me start it.

Am I missing something here... I ran a standard memory test with the included windows vista memory test and everything was OK. I want to run the longer diagnostic and memory test from dell but I can't even access it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I don't understand why I can't press F12 to be able to go into the diagnostic mode.

Did you remove the small 47 MB Diagnostics partition from your hard drive ?
