I purchased an after market bluray player for my inspiron 15r se. It is an Hitachi/lg ct30f drive. It will play regular dvd's fine but won't recognize a blu ray disk. I'm using powerdvd 12 player. It shows the disk name in the player but can't play it. Not sure if I need a special driver for this or what. Does win7 have a native driver for blu ray players?

    Thanks,
    Rut

Is that PowerDVD 12 the blue ray edition? If not that is why it won't play the blue disc. Just cause the drive is doesn't mean it will play. You will need the software to have Blue option to work.
