    can't play dvd's on new xps says wrong region

    Hi I just got my new xps 1710 tried playing a couple of different dvd's (not copies) says wrong region even though it is for us and canada is there anything that I can change to make it work?

    I had that problem with the sonic player as well, put in a mainstream title and the problem went away, I personally dont like the player at all, I put power dvd on instead

    I got it working by shutting down the computer and running media direct befroe starting the computer then I restarted and tried again in windows and it worked. Where did you get power dvd?
