    Hi

something very bad just happened. I turned my laptop on and thats what I got:

    blue screen with information

    "Stop: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file)
    \systemroot\system32\config\system
    or its log or alternate/
It is corrupt, absent or not writable.

    Beginning dump of physical memory.
    Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance."

    :(

THIS IS VERY BAD. I tried to boot in safe mode, last working settings - no luck.

I just bought this inspiron6000 a week ago. I did nor touch the original settings, all I did

was run xp-AntiSpy to turn off some xp features - I use this tool for over 2 years and never

had any problems with it. That was 2 days ago and the system was working fine all that time.

    Now I can't start it :(

    please help!!!!
have no idea what to do - this is my first laptop. there is only one partition

    please!

Did you burn off the windows discs before this happened? If so you could use the disc to recover it or wipe it out and do a fresh install. Dell will probably send the discs if needed or you could send them the laptop.

contact Dell Tech Support. I know from experience that they will send the CDs to you. You'll have to tell them that your system isn't booting up. They'll send the CDs to you free of charge, and you'll receive them in 1-2 business days. Once you get the cds, you can either do a Windows repair which would hopefully solve the problem or just reformat and do a clean install.
