    Hi all.

I just purchased an Inspiron 1420, and connected it to my wireless network.

I can get onto the internet and can also see my shared folders and files on my main PC (which is connected directly to the printer and router) however, for some reason I cannot connect the dell laptop to my printer wirelessly.

I have another computer and laptop that can connect to my printer wirelessly but for some reason, this Dell can't do it, Vista gives me an error message about not having rights or something.

I've put in the laptop IP address (range) in my firewall settings and have checked everything I can think of.

I've also called dell support and they haven't been able to help.

I am able to print if connected via USB to the printer.
Any help you folks can provide is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Frank.

Make sure your workgroup name is the same.. I changed vista to match my XP box which has the printer.. The workgroup name in XP is MSHOME you can change that right click on my computer properties system info.. computer name. Also make sure file printer sharing enabled in network properties as well as the net bios protocols. MS changed the default workgroup name in Vista so that should match XP if that is what you are trying to network with.
