    Hi all,

Im looking for a notebook with the following in mind

1)It will be my only computer (replace my desktop)
2)Carry around with me in business school
(Im not too finicky about weight, dont mind 3 kgs)

3)Moderate programming, multiple spreadsheets and audio video.

    4) Say upto 1100 bucks.

    Config 1.6 mhz ,512 mb,60 gb

So which would you recommend m700,m6000 or 9300

    Concerns
    weight of 9300
batter of 6000 do i need an upgrade (i would be ok with about 4 hours)

and any idea when to expect the nexp bunch of coupons (is it a monthly , 3 monthly thing)

I figure i can get one for 1000-1100 on a 40% off or 750 deal

    any suggestions 6000 / m700

    regards,
    chimni

The 9300 is only a pound more than the 6000, half an inch deeper and an inch wider, for this you get a 17 inch screen at wxga resolution it is an ultrasharp which the 6000 isnt, two more usb ports and a dvi connector as well as vga. If this is going to be your only system I would recommend the 9300 as it is a true desktop replacement and the 6000 isnt, I got mine for 1474 with 750 coupon, there are currently better deals, I got 1.86 ghz, wxga+ ultrasharp lcd panel, cdrw dvdrom drive, nvidia 256 meg 6800 card, 256 megs ram ( saved a hundred buying a gig from tigerdirect.com).
    Carry it to work everyday!!

you could save two hundred dollars more by going with a 1.6ghz or 1.73 ghz processor on the 9300.
Check around, No one regrets purchasing a 9300

I'd take a look at the Compaq v2000. You can configure one on HPShopping.com for around $1k with a Pentium M, less if you don't want the DVD burner. I'd recommend the 5400RPM hard drive and 12 cell battery.

I love me i9300. I'm a college student, and I have not had any problem with the size of it. For what you get, it is probably the best value out there. Especially with the 40% off coupon, you cannot beat what you get in this system. The i6000 is basically just a smaller and stripped down version of the i9300, and the m700 is great for portability, but lacks the performance that the other two have.
