    out of curiosity are they like a generic drive or do you have to order them direct from manufacturer??

    I'm not quite sure I understand. They use any different brands, from Toshiba/Samsung, to NEC, to Sony and others.

    Sorry i phrased that incredibly poorly (been up all night and im tired), i mean if i wanted to upgrade it do i have to buy a dvd drive made specifically for that model of notebook or can i just buy and dvd drive and fit it?
