I had ordered an Inspiron 6400 and the mode of payment was cheque.
The problem now is, the laptop has cleared the custom clearance but is put on hold because, dell says, they are not able to trace my payment. My bank statement clearly says, the amount went to clearing on 2nd feb.Its already debitted from my account but the dell rep says, its not showing on their database and they are working on this as top priority.I am clueless what to do now. The cheque was account payee and addressed as Ms dell India private limited. So there is no chance that it might have gone wrong. What should i do now? The rep is saying since 3 days the same thing, and has taken all the details without any result.

Try to find out who leared the check through your bank. Whose account did it go to?

Its an account payee so it can go nowhere else.I guess its a problem of dell that they are not able to trace it and not of the bank.

They are responding. Its not that they are blaming me. They sent the person for the pickup of cheque. They are asking for time. This is going on past 3 days. They agree that i have paid, but are not able to confirm it through their system.
I guess, its better to wait for another 2 days?
