Does anyone know what can be used on a truelife screen to clean it? I have some sneeze marks on it=P but don't want to scratch or damage the screen. thanks

A microfiber cloth and cleaning solution.

While I'm sure microfiber cloth & cleaning solution are safer bets, I haven't had any problems cleaning my Fujitsu glossy screen with Windex and paper towels. All this special stuff seems like a scare tactic to sell more expensive stuff to me, but I could be wrong.

Question I have is this..
I know LCE Matte screens or Glassish CRT ones you can wipe and never worry about streaks or so.
Gloss screens now.. do we need to worry about scratching them? I mean I dont think Matte screens would scratch as I have never seen it.. but these gloss ones.. I am VERY unsure about. Not like I feel that I could use a paper towel and wipe it down.
So really.. are gloss screens the type of things PDAs use where you REALLY want a screen protector on? I mean since as everyone knows.. you close your lid but still many openings are there..
So makes me worry now.. Whats the risk factor on truelife vs matte as far as scratching and cleaning? -
cleaning solution=windex?
-
NO! Do NOT use windex. Use a very worn out sock and water
-
awesome. Thanks for ur suggestion
-
Worn sock and warm water...?
Also Windex could on some polishing remove certain things that keep it protected indeed. However would love some more info about this please. -
However, I never read that stuff and have used soft cloth and Windex for years, no problems here. It's rare that I can get a laptop to last three years without backing over it or other disaster, but would like to see some Windex destroyed screens.
Water and soft cloth is alleged kinder and gentler to plastic screens. Pledge has a spray made for plastic screens.
A hard sneeze..eewww! Call Dell tech support -
My new LCD monitor said only use a soft rag and water. I would not use anything other than water.

Anyone try cleaning solutions that normal glasses would use? (Eyewear) Since most get the anti glare coating etc as well.. one would think that eyewear cleaners should work too. No?
-
I read somewhere that you should NOT use eyeglass lens solution to clean a notebook screen. It might have been in the notebook manual actually.
Anyway, I just use a eyeglass lens cloth, without any solution. I just lightly fog up the screen a little bit and then wipe with the cloth. Marks seems to be coming out fine. -
Yes, seriously. The manufactures should know whats best for their screens. -
Im using a Microfiber cloth and eye glass protective wear is that good?
-
Is this true? -
I bought one of these and it does a great job of cleaning my screen. It is not completely smooth like microfiber cloths are but it does not scratch the sceen. I think it works better than my microfiber cloths do. Anything it doesn't take off comes off easily with water. The water loosens anything that is dried on and this removes all the residue.

Try Monster's ScreenCLean kit that comes with a really good microfiber cloth. It safely removesdust, dirt, & figerprints for the possible picture.

I'd suggest avoiding using wipes if you can. Get an air blower or blaster to remove the dust. If this is not enough, you could try a electrostatic dust cloth
Finally, if you end up getting oils on the screen due to touching, or some other type of dirt I'd suggest using something like iklear polish, this is similar to the monster cleaner. Use a microfiber cloth to apply and remove.
My suspicions are the screen is easily scratched.
