okay, Ive been having major problems with dell's cs. So I went to a case manager telling him what was wrong and asked for compensation for the delay, and bad customer service I have been recieving.
He offered a $100 coupon, but I have to repley to his email saying thats what I want. Do I take it and shut up. Or do I tell him thats not enough, Like if he could throw in a bag that would be better? Help me, those of you who have been throught this...
-
That is probably all they will give so I wouldn't push it.
-
Ask for a straight-up credit instead of a coupon.
-
If you are trying to find out how far you can push it to get free things, and get away with it... well I'd say "Im upset, but the $100 helps. If you throw in a free bag/remote/whatever, I'll keep the order, otherwise Im cancelling" - of course you'll look lame if he says "no" and you dont cancel... -
I can understand that you wont know how mad I am. You know I am not as mad about the delay as I am the very bad customer service.
-
Becky, honestly you should consider yourself lucky to be even offered £50 or $100 USD or whatever, I have been jerked around like crazy and they haven't offered me squat
-
-
Yeah in my sig
'they can only offer compensation AFTER the order has gone through' -
I agree with that !!! -
-
on a side note, i've gotten a $100 concession coupon and my laptop has not shipped yet. maybe it was because i talked to an american rep...the credit is not going to come into effect until "up to 21 days after shipment." -
What is a concession coupon?
-
a coupon they give customers to get them to shut up and stop complaining
. its basically a save $x on any purchase $x+$0.01 and above.
-
$100 sounds pretty sweet to me

I want to feel better about this so will someone please post a reply who has had it worse than me. I ordered a blue 1520 with a T7300 processor 2 GB RAM and a 1280x800 glossy screen July 2. At first the order was supposed to ship July 23rd. I got it for an amazing $1093 before taxes b/c of the $350 Dell coupon. Then that day came and it was backordered to July 30th. That day rolled around and the new date became Aug. 6th. It is now that fine day and my order is now expected to ship Aug. 28th, a full 8 weeks after the daye of order. I go to college the 21st. This is absurd.

On a positive side, I did hear of someone who ordered -1- day before you, but who also had the same delays and 8/28 shipping date, but they were notified today that it was shipping, so im thinking you wont have to wait long. I suspect you will have it before you leave for college. -
The case manager told me they cant do a item and a coupon. If this is the case how are some people recieving bags and multiple coupons and credits?
-
100% false info ! Case managers are peon reps in India and can not be trusted -
what does that mean they can do it or they cant?
-
-
Why so you can get $250 and $300 back like 2 other members have that have received the number ?

I just got off the phone with my 3rd case manager (they never call me back) and she said that there was no compensation for delays. I told her about everything I had read on this site. She transferred me to her manager to discuss this, and it got disconnected. Go figure.
I asked her for a specific reason why mine was delayed and she said it was the colors. Duh. Then she asked if there was anything that I had to say about Dell or their customer service, so I said that if they are going to release a new product in the months before their busiest time of the year (back to school) that they should have anticipated that they would need more parts/components to meet the demand. 46 days of waiting to get a laptop is beyond rediculous.
And I didn't get any coupons, or free bags, or upgrades. -

I got absolutely nothing when i tried, im in the UK though. I specifically asked for stuff such as a free bag etc, i think thats where i went wrong.
-
they just offered me a 50$ gredit but again it has to wait till the unit ships then maybe i guess some of us will see these promised credits.. i doubt many will get what they were promised though.. i have a case number from that rep and i call in today and was told that i was NOT promised that.. i said okay i have a case number and a email from that rep stating that... the response .... oh.. hold on.
we cant do that for you.. wtf??!!!!! i sent then a email with my response from the first rep tonight we'll see what happens.. -
For the deals and prices Dell is offering I think the wait is substantial.
I think they should really only offer compensation for the people in school that will need there notebook.
If it is just for leisure and you really don't NEED it as much as WANT it then you can always cancel and goto a department store.
compensation for BAD CS
