completion ever early?

Has anyone had their laptop completed and shipped before the est ship date?

I waited too late to order, and placed my order on the 7/9 and EST ship date is 7/26 (the day I leave for a 1 week trip to AZ) and will arrive on 7/27(next day shipping). I had to wait to get funds in my acct to place the order.

Just curious if its ever came a bit early.

 

It depends. What did you order? If their not too backlogged, they can usually send it out a couple days earlier.

 

Dell is usually pretty good about shipping a couple of days early.

My scheduled ship date was on the 18th of June and the actual ship date turned out to be the 8th.

that is my order, called and said it is in boxing stage, (yet i ordered it last night) lol. Is there ANY way i can call and have them put the audigy inside instead of the High Definition Audio 2.0 instead? Or does it make a difference? (i produce music but I usually just hook up my stuff to outboard cards w/ midi interfaces etc.) So i didnt think It would be a big deal. I'm just stressing over it thinking I made a huge mistake!! I dropped 1616 on this laptop w/ discounts and I'm having anxiety =( I kind of hesitated putting it in because funds on the bank account were running abit low =|. I don't regret the purchase one bit though.

Btw, are you saying I could contact them and possibly put the shipment out a few days earlier?

 

Ordered on 22nd of June...Got an Estimated Ship Date for July 27th.

Actually shipped on July 8th, and I have it with me already.

Dell is good.

I cancelled my order and made a new one on 07/07/07 and it still hasn't even started yet!

BTW, no changes to orders can be accepted no matter what stage they are at, but the Audigy doesn't go "inside" it's just a software equalizer...

 

Patience.... the order status page doesn't seem to be updating that fast. Heck... I wouldn't be surprised if some of you went from pre-production right to shipping!

 

I just called the line and it said that it was in boxing stage. =) Whatever that means.

... it depends on the laptop and your location. Those who ordered the m1330 on 6/26 are still in pre-production! LOL...

 

But that's all of the m1330s, I'm seeing 15 and 1720s shipped like 2-3 days after order

 

... oh ... it also depends on the config. Maybe you chose a weird part that no-one usually orders? heh heh heh...

the kind of display might delay the order considerably.

Ordered yesterday, the bag went from production to shipped in the matter of hours, while the PC is still Pre-Production :/. What's pre-production mean?

Get this-- My completed building date was July 16th with an estimated arrival of the 23. I got it yesterday the 10th, and it was 3-5 ground shipping! And it shipped out on Sunday the 8th.

 

Not unusual... i've seen people get their laptops 2-3 weeks earlier than their estimated arrival date. I'm not too surprised.

 

I ordered the night of 7/6 and mine has shipped as of today. Estimated original shipping date was 7/19.

I ordered mine 6/27*, mine is currently in the build stage, and has been since at LEAST thursday, 7/5 (the first day i called the automated machine).

 

I ordered 7/6 it's still in production with est. ship date of 7/25 for some reason. I even picked the screen that wouldn't cause a delay because I'm leaving on vacation.

 

Same, The est ship date for my laptop is 7/26, I leave that night at 3am on a jet to go to Sedona, and the est shipped date is 7/27, lol. Mine is in boxing stage and I hope they send it out ASAP! I want this laptop for when I travel.

 

This may or may not help you but mine went to the boxing stage on Monday afternoon and was shipping today at 1300, but at about 0630 when I checked this morning it was still in boxing. So it looks like it took about a day and a half to a day and 3/4 to go from boxing to shipped. Probably just depends on the time of day it completes testing i.e. does it make the plan that day to the US or not.
