It contains a software calling dell MediaDirect

as i know , dell MediaDirect is a kind of win xp embedded.

    but,

    if

win xp home+dell MediaDirect=win xp MCE??

    p.s.: it's too troublesome to reinstall MD3!

Actually Media Direct is a cut down version of XP running a multimedia application resembling XP MCE interface developed by CyberLInk. It is stored in a hidden partition and loaded by pressing the MD button. Therefore it is kind of like XP MCE but low on resources. I think this special edition of XP loads up only the bare minimum required to play multimedia files; it disables unwanted services and system devices like Wireless adapter, BT , LAN adapter etc. to improve battery life.
