I just ordered a Dell Inspiron 1521 with a ATI Radeon Xpress 1270 integrated graphics chip. Now I've heard Dell notebooks features upgradeable graphics yet on their site I can not upgrade the graphics. I presume the motherboard is a AMD 690G but i'm not positive about that. I've also heard that integrated graphics can be disabled in the BIOS. I would like to do a bit of gaming on it (i.e Call of Duty 2, NHL/Madden 08, Need for Speed Carbon) and think that I should buy a dedicated video card, however I do not know what or how I could disable the integrated graphics and jam a dedicated graphics chip in. Any advice

You can't upgrade a dell with an integrated graphics card, or any laptop with one, period, they are soldered to the motherboard, and there's no way to install a dedicated one.

They don't offer better cards for the 1521 because it's the budget model inspiron.
