Has anyone ever tried to connect his Dell XPS M1530 (with 8600GT) to a LCD T.V. that can run HD Ready, and play a HD movie on the laptop and watch it in HD quality on his LCD T.V.?
    I hope you understand me.
If the answer is yes, please detail how did you do that?
what cable did you use? and so on...
    thanking you in advance,
    Igal

I am assuming this notebook does not have a digital video out such as hdmi or dvi? If that is the case and the television does not have vga support then it will be really hard without spending a bunch of cash. You will need a converter that goes between the vga signal and changes it to a digital signal and the last time i checked those go for a couple hundred dollars. Most televisions cant accept vga unless you have a front projector or something similar.

    Pygo, the M1530 offers HDMI.

All you would need to do is connect your notebooks HDMI port to the TV's HDMI port and enable the screen through the Window properties.

Right click the desktop and go to 'Personalise' (in Vista) or 'Properties' (in XP). You can enable the TV as a secondary display to your M1530 in there.
