Any recommendations for a laptop cooler for the 1530?
The zalman 2000 seems to have holes to blow air on entire bottom.
I want to use a seperate ac power supply though, not the laptops usb ports.
ideas?

well...so long as you don't OC your 1530, it really doesn't need any coolings. The ventilation on the 1530 is pretty good, so the lappy runs cool most of the times...
But if you have to get one, i recommend the Arctic Liquid Ice tubes. really easy to install, just stick the tubes in your GPU and CPU, and the thing cools like a charm. (without adding excessive weight on your laptop =]) -
coolers are the stupidest thing i've ever head of. It's called a laptop because it's portable not a desktop with a screen attached.
Laptops that need coolers, shouldn't be called laptops ... -
There is a link to a Review I have written on the Zalman NC2000(B) which I found stunning. Enjoy!
As for the power issue take a look on page 2 of the review and there is a picture there. Just type USB to AC power into google and millions of results come up. -
Many of us use a laptop in offices. Connect to external monitors and keyboards/mice. But we need portability ina system.
They do tend to get hot.
This is my first 1530. I ordered but its not delivered yet, no idea how hot all day use will get.
thx for info. -
ppl who buy coolers, are wasting money IMO, when you buy a laptop, expect it to be cool, (lol), if it gets hot, then there is somethin worn with it,. clean it, if that doesn't work, then return it, and get another1.
You know your wrong, u just can't admit that u have been fooled by whichever company u bought ur lappy from. -

Thank you LiTh07. Way to out power the n00b -.-

It's not needed at all, but some who have too much $$ to spend, can spend it on coolers. (some call those ppl retards) ...... jk .. lol
Edit: what LiTh07 said, is not the same as what you said.
you said "Completely fasle" while he said "i kind of disagree with you". + he put it in a more logical way, when you put it in a (im not logical,im misinformed way. -
D2N he was referring to another post by you not the same one as i commented on... making them poor candidates for comparison.. get your facts straight before posting please and avoid the use of the term "retard" it is offencive to some ...

macbooks are generally cost more for the same performance<alot more sometimes> and the graphic is less powerful compare to m1530 <thats where most heat are generated>. laptop coolers are smart ideas, is just for pplz to feel a little more comfortable while using their laptops. and if manufactures use state of the art heat resistant marterial and heat dispensing techonology into a comercial use laptop to a point its "cool" even under heavy use, I dont think anybody are willing to pay for its selling price. and as for buying laptop coolers, pretty most of them will do as long it has atleast 2 fans and will match the airflow direction of your build in cooling fans.

I have a Zalman because I was using it with my Alienware M7700. If you have never used a M7700 then you probably won't understand why one would want to use a cooler on a notebook/laptop.
Any way, the left side wrist pad on my M1530 gets quite warm, caused by the Seagate 7200RPM drive that located there. Since I've put the laptop on the Zalman the wrist pad is nice and cool. The HD temp is stable at 32 celsius which is nice.
Yes the M1530 would function well without the cooler. But computers work better and sustain less stress on their components when they are kept cool.
Clear?
cooler for xps 1530
