Im reading more and more about 4 core CPUs, even from the Core 2 (notebook cpus) family.... and I would like ask, if there is something to those 4core cpus, plus if it is possible to set one into XPS :-D the prices are really low now.... would I notice the difference between my cpu T8300 and any quad core or is it only for intense computing? thanks for any info...

You will notice the difference mainly with softwares that can use more cores.

Uhh....there is no quad core out yet for laptops. And if memory serves me correctly (read: I could be wrong), no current notebook will support the mobile quads that will be out in a few months (needs a different socket).

    There are quad core notebooks:
The Sager springs to mind, but it's the only one out currently. It's using a desktop chip, so it's really limited to gaming machines right now.

    +1 Greg.

I wouldn't want a quad core mobile CPU anyway. Not many programs would take advantage of it, much more power hungry, a lot more heat to dissipate, etc.

sorry no c2qs for lappies now. those sagers don't use mobile chipsets, they're true desktop replacements.
