Hello, i wonder if it's normal that my cpu (T7300 on vostro 1500) run @ 2.0 ghz, with battery and in idle status...this because i've always thought that the speed in this case should be reduced to keep longer battery lasting... i used nhc and i8kfangui as monitoring software....
    thanks
ps. i don't know if it's important but my os is windows xp home edition...maybe it don't support speed changing??

in i8kfangui i went to options/status reading and changed read current cpu speed to real time calculation. this worked for me. some say it differs from cpu-z, though.

Apparently the displayed clock rate is not true.
    See my thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=172094
Try CPU-Z and post your results please.
