would 1.66 duo to a 2.0 d/c upgrade be possible, even if i have to sent back to dell (in lets say 6-8 mnths)? motherboard should be able to handle that right?

it is posible and you can do it yourself (may void your warenty). in q4 of this year the merom chips should be released and be compatable with any core duo system. this will give you dual core 64bit processing. you can get complete instructions by looking at dells service manual for your computer.

Like Random said, you should be able to upgrade it, but Dell won't upgrade it for you. You'll have to buy the CPU and do the upgrade yourself. Supposedly this will void your warranty, but I'm not 100% positive, so it would be best to call dell before you do it.
