I plan to mainly use this laptop for email, coding, etc. Not too much design as I will do it on my big monitors at home...

I have an order in production for the d630, but the new features of the inspirion has me second guessing my order...

I was planning on getting out of the office and doing some traveling so I think the d630 will be good. I also got the higher resolution screen...

    Any thoughts?

The D630 will have better portability than any of the Inspirons...
Which new features of the Inspirons interest you?

Go with the D630, although the inspirons build quality isn't nearly as bad as others make it out to be, the D630 is a business platform designed to endure a long term use. It comes with 3 years warranty at no additional charge and is made of durable magnesium alloy.

You also get the advantage of docking with the D630 which will come into use when you need to use two external monitors. It's also much easier to undock than to unplug a bunch of peripherals.

edit - not to mention, if you're worried, business support is better than home support.
