i am trying to decide between d630 and t61....

i want to get this t61 but im worried that a lot of u guys are saying that the monitor really sucks.....im using this for law school.....mainly typing on word, using internet, watching movies, chatting.....

i wanted something light, and threefore was leaning to the d630, which is lighter than the t61, but is the t61 configured as it is here too heavy to take to school?

good deal? its cheaper then d630......comes out to about 900 shipped (tax and free shipping)

    thanks

thanks, i read that thread but my screen is wxga and his was wxga+

also, i am not concerned about the brightness...more about the quality of the screen and how clear things look.....people are making it sound like the screen is absolutely terrible

Can't comment on the T61...but I have a D630 with the WXGA screen. It's very bright and clear. Vertical viewing angle isn't as good as it could be, but on mine it's not too bad either.

I have the same problem, but for me it is not the display, it is the noise, especially the fan. Does anyone has experinces with the t61 and the d630. which one is more silent?

Again--can't comment on the t61, but my d630 is very quiet. Unless I'm paying really close attention, I don't even notice when the fan kicks in. I have to say it's the quietest computer I've ever used.
