This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi All,

    I finally got this DVD writer installed in my D820 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827136070

    problem is.....when I put a DVD-RW in, it doesn't allow me to right click and format it. When I put the disc in, it says that D is a DVD-RW. Is there something else I have to do?

    It plays DVDs ok.
