i'm thinking about getting the d820 for college and i was wondering whether the latitude d820 will be able to deal with the hardware requirements of vista, my main concern is the nvidia quadro, i'm not a gaming person but will it be able to deal with vista or should i start looking for some different notebooks?

It will be plenty. Vista requires a mere 128MB GPU. You have the option of a 256 (with 128 in turbocache) or a 512 (with 256 in turbocache).

Vista would probably be fine on even a 64MB GPU; the D820 will have zero problems with it. If you are not yet set on the Dell and willing to consider other notebooks, you can complete our FAQ in the What Should I Buy forum and we can help you out with some recommendations.
